A Christmas Inspired
'tis the Season! HND desires to spread Christmas cheer through its Christmas tree program. HND gifts selected families the opportunity to shop for the tree of their dreams with all the trimmings. Referrals can be submitted by any community partner beginning the fourth Monday in November. Selected families will be notified by the first Monday in December.
Birthday in a Box
Did someone say "BIRTHDAY"! We celebrate youth in foster care and youth experiencing homelessness and we're INTENTIONAL in letting them know their BIRTHDAY MATTERS! Referrals can be submitted by any community partner. Please submit a referral within 30 days of the youth's birthday. Email to nominate a deserving youth: info@thehomenextdoor.org
Journey Home
“Welcome Home!” HND offers selected families the opportunity to furnish their new homes with some needed essentials and a few wants! Selected families will create a Home Wish List and items will be purchased based on availability and funding. Family must be referred by a homeless agency. Please submit a referral within 14 days of the family being housed.
Emotional Support
Neighbor Life Coaches(NLC) strive to establish trusting relationships with neighbors in need and help individuals create plans towards self-sufficiency. NLC's listens to you and gathers information to help whatever crisis you're are facing. HND believes in a wellness model that helps our neighbors empower themselves by focusing on what works for them. Schedule a session here.
The Food Train
The Food Train program helps those in need of a meal. We provide home cooked meals once a week to homebound neighbors and those with very limited cooking skills and or mobility! Register today by calling or texting 682-250-0382 and a Neighbor Life Coach (NLC) will assist you!
412 Youth
412 Youth is a community mentor program for youth ages 12-17. Our goal is to provide safe spaces for youth to engage in positive peer interactions while also offering space for them to cultivate new skills. 412 Youth helps kids engage in their community through service and broaden their horizons.
A Random Act of Kindness
Creating opportunities to promote Irrational Generosity. Just as it sounds. We get together and perform random acts of kindness. The beautiful part? Anyone can do it, no skills required.
Neighborly
Community is vital to our overall well-being. Neighborly is a reflection of HND's purpose to intentionally love our neighbors. For those eligible, HND will provide 8 hours a month of attendant services.
